Poem Monday...........again.

I thought this was a very sweet poem.......

Friendship

We grow closer to each other
When we’re closer to the Lord
The common faith that we share
Binds our hearts in one accord

For friendships last a life time
When built on Jesus Christ
Throughout each different season
We find we are in life

Friends are there through times of grief
And times when hope is gone
Always there with encouragement
So we can carry on

So thank the Lord for giving you
A true and faithful friend
To laugh with you, and cry with you
On whom you can depend

For friends will stay no matter what
Giving you support
And together your hearts truly unite
With the love of the Lord

Now for some humor!!!

The Perfect Girl

A friend asked a gentleman how it is that he never married ?

Replied the gentleman, "Well, I guess I just never met the right woman ... I guess I've been looking for the perfect girl."

"Oh, come on now," said the friend, "Surely you have met at least one girl that you wanted to marry."

"Yes, there was one girl .. once. I guess she was the one perfect girl .. the only perfect girl I really ever met. She was just the right everything .. I really mean that she was the perfect girl for me."

"Well, why didn't you marry her," asked the friend.

"She was looking for the perfect man," he said.

Poem Monday!!

The Love Of Jesus

Before Jesus was a full grown man,
He knew more knowledge and wisdom
than anyone in the land
People didn't believe Heaven was His kingdom.

As Jesus walked down the weary lane,
With blood dripping down His suntanned head
Carrying the cross which where He was to be slain,
Still loving the people who were going to have Him dead.

After He got to Calvary
The soldiers nailed nails into His hands and feet
Even though, He felt at peace
He told His people to rejoice not weep.

Even though He died that day
And was lain inside a tomb
He rose upon the third day
And showed everyone He was true!!

I wrote this poem a little while ago and thought I would share it with all of you. Do you like it??

It has been a loooong time........

Whew, it feels good to get back to posting. For all of you out there who wants to know about our camping trip, here it is, it was VERY VERY fun!! I took a lot of pictures but, my camera card got ruined. So, that means ALL of my pictures are gone........aah!! ;( Oh well, things aren't made to last forever anyways. On another note, my siblings and I made fishing poles out of tree branches!! Can you believe that?? Although, the hooks and line we bought ( sorry, can't do everything ). We had fun making them. I actually caught about 6 little sardine size fish. LOL!! So, altogether I think we caught maybe 15 small fish..........which isn't bad. They were too small to eat though.

Other then that, we made a couple forts out of branches and leaves. Since my brother is a Boy Scout, he likes (and is required) to do those kinds of things. I also enjoyed building them too......who would've known!!

Also, since I was up camping I wasn't able to do my Poem Monday. So, I decided just to do it today. Here is my poem for the week.....

To Do List From God

I ran my life in search of worldly things;
My time and will were firmly in control.
I thought I had no need for what God brings;
I gave no heed to murmurs from my soul.

“You’re planning, doing all the time,” it said,
“But something else is missing deep inside.
Your mind is whirling, but your heart is dead,
So turn to God and let go of your pride.”

I did, and God said, “Here’s My plan for you:
Give your life to Me, and just let go.
Have faith and pray, and read the Bible through,
And you’ll have blessings more than you can know.”

So simple, yet it brings me perfect peace,
Living life for God the way I should.
Direction, purpose, fullness and release—
Life with God is very, very good.

By Joanna Fuchs

This poem, mainly focuses on how much better and more peaceful life is when we move away from worldly things and closer to Jesus.

Christians who remember what their lives were like before being saved can relate to how this poem reveals how the worries of the world and our need to plan and control things can make life very difficult.

When we turn it all over to God, life becomes so much more peaceful and satisfying.

Just something to think about........

Poem Monday

I'm going to start posting a poem every Monday. I think I'll call it Poem Monday.......hmm, what do you all think?? I would GREATLY appreciate it if you would give me some suggestions. Well anyway, here is my poem for the week.

DECEITFUL HEART

I believe we all know evil from good
It's clearly quite simple and well understood
But when there’s a catch, a prize to be won
We abandon our conscience to burn for what’s wrong

I believe it's not hard to see what is right,
To know what is darkness and know what is light,
Yet when the blood boils and the flesh starts to rise,
We flee all our pledges for paths that feel nice.

I believe there’s a judgment for what we have known
For choices and actions we’ve willfully sown;
For passionate pursuits of private delights,
When there’s an alternative to follow the light.

Why can’t we remember the heartache of evil,
Before we commit to it all of our will?
Few moments are tougher than after we’ve sinned,
The guilt’s like a whirlwind howling within.

I believe in a cross that corrects everything
Erasing all evil existing within,
A sacrifice greater than man’s greatest sin,
That’s branded my heart and sealed it for Heaven.

Beautiful Poem

Hi everyone!!

I thought this was a very thought provoking and beautiful poem and just had to post it so everyone could read it.

Too Busy For Jesus

The dream became clearer as I tossed around in my sleep.
The Lord was calling my name over and over, so loud and deep.
The voice surrounded my bedroom, I stared within.
He said, "This is Jesus, my friend, where have you been?"

He said, "My dear brethren, what have you done today,
to walk in my footsteps and try not to stray?
Not once have you been humble on your knees in prayer.
Son, you must shine my light and show others you care."

I saw you yesterday, only glancing at the man on the road.
He was having car trouble and needed to be towed.
You said, "I can't stop or I will surely be late,
someone will help him soon, he'll just have to wait."

"One of your workers has been sick and almost died.
This lady is a widow and food for five she must buy.
You have plenty and you're never hungry when you go to bed.
Why are you so greedy and trying to get ahead?

"What if I had been too busy to die on the cross?
You would never walk the streets of gold, your soul would be lost.
What if I had been too busy to hear you that day,
when you asked forgiveness and earnestly prayed?"

I awoke from my deep slumber and my heart felt content.
I thanked the Lord on my knees, for the message He had sent.
So many times, I take for granted the small things He has given to me.
Without the Lord in my life each day, I am blind and cannot see.

This poem hit the nail on the head, we have to be the light of Jesus while we are down on this earth. So take time this week to be kind to your old neighbor or help the man on the street. By those actions you can hopefully plant that little seed in their heart and then the Holy Spirit can work in them.

Beautiful Poem

Hi everyone!! I came upon this poem just a little while ago and just had to post it. This poem is so true, life is a gift which can be taken a way at anytime. So we have to make the most of it while we can.

LIFE
By Edgar A. Guest

Life is a gift to be used every day,
Not to be smothered and hidden away;
It isn't a thing to be stored in the chest
Where you gather your keepsakes and treasure your best;

It isn't a joy to be sipped now and then
And promptly put back in a dark place again.
Life is a gift that the humblest may boast of
And one that the humblest may well make the most of.

Get out and live it each hour of the day,
Wear it and use it as much as you may;
Don't keep it in niches and corners and grooves,
You'll find that in service its beauty improves.
